Scholarships
Zonta is dedicated to achieving gender equality in education and supports fellowships and awards for women and girls pursuing education and careers in these traditionally male-dominated fields.
Zonta International Offers the following Scholarships:
Amelia Earhart Fellowship
Zonta annually awards up to 30 Fellowships of US$10,000 each to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences.
Zonta Young Women in Leadership
Zonta recognizes young women for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service with up to 37 awards of US$5,000 each annually.
Zonta Women in STEM Award
Zonta encourages women to pursue education in STEM through a pilot program, offering up to 16 awards of US$10,000 and a complimentary one-year supporting membership in Zonta International for the next financial year.
Zonta Women in Business
Zonta celebrates women who demonstrate exceptional leadership & entrepreneurial spirit, offering 10 international awards of US$10,000 each and a complimentary 1-year supporting membership in ZI for the next financial year.

Zonta Club of Franklin – Young Women in Leadership
Zonta Club of Franklin, NC is a member of Zonta International. The organization's goal is to build a better world for women and girls. This $1000 scholarship is for a female student in Macon County, NC enrolled as a senior in High School.
The Local Young Women in Leadership (LYWLA) Award Program is to encourage young women to participate in leadership positions by recognizing the candidate’s commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to building a better world for women and girls through service and advocacy. Leadership refers to all aspects of community life where decisions are made about issues which relate to and affect those communities in which people work and live. In order for more women to be represented in key decision-making positions worldwide, we must encourage young women to pursue careers or seek leadership positions in public policy making, government and volunteer organizations and further their education with these aims in view.
Zonta Club of Franklin – Young Women in Business
Zonta Club of Franklin, NC is a member of Zonta International. The organization's goal is to build a better world for women and girls. This $1000 scholarship is for a female student in Macon County, NC currently enrolled as a senior in High School.
A graduating high school senior pursuing a business program with major field of specialization in accounting, economics, finance, business management, business technology, marketing, operations management, human resources management, international business, or entrepreneurship at an accredited university/college/institute, who demonstrates outstanding potential in the field and is living in Macon County.
Zonta Club of Franklin – Young Women in STEM
Zonta Club of Franklin, NC is a member of Zonta International. The organization's goal is to build a better world for women and girls. This $1000 scholarship is for a female student in Macon County, NC currently enrolled as a senior in High School.
This local scholarship will be awarded to a female high school senior pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) degree program at an accredited university/college/institute, who demonstrates outstanding potential in the field and is from Macon County.
Zonta Club of Franklin – Young Women in Aviation
Zonta Club of Franklin, NC is a member of Zonta International. The organization's goal is to build a better world for women and girls. This $1000 scholarship is for a female student in Macon County, NC enrolled as a senior in High School.
Amelia Earhart was an early member of Zonta Clubs of New York and Boston. It is in her honor that this scholarship is given by Zonta Club of Franklin, NC. YWAA is designed to assist the student desiring a career in aviation or related training and studies. The funds may be used for tuition and fees at a college, university, flight school, military institution, etc.
